Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance

The Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK), located in Bonn, is one of the agencies under the remit of the Federal Ministry of the Interior. It is centrally responsible for civil protection in the event of a catastrophe. Aside from crisis management, the BBK’s functions include providing emergency supplies, research and technology, as well as health protection measures for the population.
